Privacy Policy
Effective date: 2026-03-01
This Privacy Policy explains how SLA Monitor (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you install and use the SLA Monitor Slack app (the “Service”).
Information we collect
From Slack
When you install SLA Monitor in your Slack workspace, we receive access tokens and limited workspace data via Slack’s OAuth process. During normal operation we may process:
- Workspace and team identifiers (for example, your Slack workspace ID).
- Channel identifiers and names for channels you choose to monitor.
- Message metadata and content snippets for messages in monitored channels that are relevant to SLA tracking (for example, messages from external users and related replies).
- User identifiers and profile information (such as display names) needed to show who sent a message and to send Slack DMs.
Configuration and alert data
When you use the SLA Monitor app Home tab and configuration modals, we store:
- Which channels are being monitored and their SLA settings.
- Alert configuration, including which Slack members, email addresses, and webhook URLs should receive alerts or notifications.
Email and webhook data
For email alerts we process recipient email addresses and the content of alert emails. For webhooks we send alert payloads, which may include channel identifiers, message snippets, message permalinks, and SLA-related metadata, to the URLs you configure.
How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- Determine whether messages in monitored channels have received a qualifying response within the configured SLA.
- Send alerts before an SLA is missed via Slack DMs, email, and webhooks according to your configuration.
- List messages that have failed the SLA in the app’s Home tab so your team can review and take action.
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Service, including logging and monitoring for troubleshooting and security.
Data retention
Pending messages are kept only while they are being evaluated against the SLA. Messages that fail the SLA are stored in a separate list until you remove them from the app or until we apply a reasonable retention period. Configuration data (such as channel settings and alert recipients) is stored while the app remains installed in your workspace.
Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell your data. We may share limited data with third parties who help us provide the Service, including:
- Slack, as the platform on which the app operates.
- Postmark, which we use to send email alerts.
- Webhook destinations that you configure (for example, Zapier webhooks), to which we send alert payloads.
We may also disclose information if required by law or in response to valid legal requests, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of SLA Monitor, our users, or others.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we process, including encryption in transit and limiting access to production data. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
- You can stop monitoring a channel at any time by removing it from the SLA Monitor app.
- You can change or remove alert recipients (Slack members, email addresses, webhook URLs) using the app’s configuration options.
- You can uninstall the SLA Monitor app from your Slack workspace to stop all further data collection and processing by the app.
International data transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, depending on where our hosting and service providers operate. By using the Service, you consent to such transfers, subject to applicable law.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Effective date” above. Your continued use of the Service after any changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
